193 | Police Service and its functions

Kariba Draft Constitution
  1. There is a Police Service of Zimbabwe, which is responsible for–
    1. detecting, preventing and investigating crime;
    2. preserving internal security;
    3. maintaining public order;
    4. protecting and securing the inhabitants of Zimbabwe and their property; and
    5. upholding and enforcing this Constitution and the law without fear or favour.
  2. The Police Service must exercise its functions in co-operation with–
    1. any intelligence service that may be established by law;
    2. any body that may be established by law for the purpose of detecting, preventing or investigating particular classes of offences; and
    3. regional and international bodies formed to combat crime.
