I am a black caribbean person of african decent having been transported to the caribbean due to slavery. It is unbelievable that a black African country could be so barbaric to its people. You must be willing to shed your blood for your freedom it seems to be the only way you will achieve freedom. We as your caribbean brothers and sisters share in your grief and follow what is happening by the hour thanks to the underground media.

"Should ordinary Zimbabweans fear a civil war?"

Yes...Zimbabweans should fear a civil war.

It will pit father against son..Brother against brother and increase tribal tensions but I see no other outcome.
Reply to this comment --- <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('240254','Fish Eagle','@Rise Up\r\n\r\n\"Should ordinary Zimbabweans fear a civil war?\"\r\n\r\nYes...Zimbabweans should fear a civil war.\r\n\r\nIt will pit father against son..Brother against brother and increase tribal tensions but I see no other outcome.'); return false;">Quote from this comment

I am out of touch with many of the pertinent issues surrounding the subject of our country's future, and this news about a military uprising comes not as a shock, but as something i was not expecting.

It sounds bold, yet composed, and above all from a position of control. The kind of control that would send chills down the spines of those who stand as potential targets of its inevitable assault.

Now the rest of us wait until the 27th for the action of the Zimbabwean people, and resultantly our government, then the action of this armed resistance.

Perhaps I'm behind the times, but looking at NEHANDA on-line newspaper they have run an article from a group calling themselves the Zimbabwe Resistance Movement.

The statement warns RGM and the Junta that they will take up Arms if the oppression doesn't stop.

link http://www.nehandaradio.com/zimbabwe/military/resistancemove050608.html

Short extract:

FELLOW Zimbabweans, it is with deep regret and trepidation that we announce the formation of the Zimbabwe Resistance Movement, a military organisation comprising of serving and former members of the Zimbabwe armed forces and security services.

We thought it would not come to this, but unfortunately the situation on the ground in Zimbabwe has forced us to take this unprecedented move. We are firm believers of democracy but we are also alive to the fact that the democratic means are not necessarily the only options available to achieve democracy.

We have discovered that the problem in Zimbabwe is a military one and therefore, require a military solution to bring a resolution to our long suffering. We acknowledge the efforts that have been made by numerous political, civic and student groups to achieve a democratic transition, but also note the arrogance of a few politicians, generals, colonels, police chiefs and top brass of the CIO.

It is against this background, that we, serving and former military, police and CIO men and women believe that we would be doing our once great nation a disservice if we do not challenge the status quo by all means that are open to us, including but not limited to militarily means.
Reply to this comment --- <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('239762','Fish Eagle','Perhaps I\'m behind the times, but looking at NEHANDA on-line newspaper they have run an article from a group calling themselves the Zimbabwe Resistance Movement.\r\n\r\nThe statement warns RGM and the Junta that they will take up Arms if the oppression doesn\'t stop.\r\n\r\nlink http:\/\/www.nehandaradio.com\/zimbabwe\/military\/resistancemove050608.html\r\n\r\nShort extract:\r\n\r\nFELLOW Zimbabweans, it is with deep regret and trepidation that we announce the formation of the Zimbabwe Resistance Movement, a military organisation comprising of serving and former members of the Zimbabwe armed forces and security services.\r\n\r\nWe thought it would not come to this, but unfortunately the situation on the ground in Zimbabwe has forced us to take this unprecedented move.
This state has turned so rabbidly brutal against its own people. By so doing they are simply hardening the people, with dire consequences. See what has happened in Matabeleland, has Zanu ever won a seat there? Once upon a time the country was purged of political opposition activists who came from one region and that did not matter, now it is wholesale and it will matter indeed. They need to be reminded of the fate of KABILA. THEY CAN NOT FOOL THEMSELVES TO THINK THIS WILL LAST FOREVER. Its a pity that these ZANU people think they are invinceble. I can sense there being an in house job.
Reply to this comment --- <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('239567','Get Busy','This state has turned so rabbidly brutal against its own people.
