How senile Mugabe has become. He needs a megaphone to remind him of his unity speech at independence, the very speech which endeared him to the west. Its content was shortlived when he proved his vindictiveness towards the Matabele, Midlands and even some of his tribesman as well as the white population who dared to oppose him. They mistakenly believed his speech meant he was a democrat. In reality he was and is a demon. He talks about democracy (a definition in Mugabe speak indeed, not in reality). How many times has he interefered with the judiciary since his assumption of the executive presidency of 1987. Democracy indeed! How many times has he fabricated political accusations against his opposition to his advantage. Once upon a time some dissidents like TAMBOLENYOKA once roamed the forests and returned back into the Zimbabwean social fold unharmed and had the audacity to contest a parliamentary seat for Gwanda. A dissident, fighting the ZIMBABWE national army walking the streets and getting into politics under MUGABE'S regime! My conclusion then and now is that this guy was the typical pretended dissident used by Mugabe as an excuse to decimate the Matabeleland populace. Why am I harpping on about this? Simple, Mugabe is a twister of events. He is killing and torturing people right now and then accuses the MDC of formenting the violence. He then threatens to arrest them in daylight while he is torturing his very own people at night. His squealer, Brighton Matonga is a typical reflection of this dictator's lying acumen. He tells us that the diplomats who were held up at a road block recently had been addressing a rally for the MDC. I am keen to learn of the content of the speech by at least one of these diplomats at this rally and to see proof of his/her MDC membership. I am sure the achives of the ZBC must have a copy of this grandios event which they can legitimately fly on al jazeera etc for free Supa can do this promptly. Please, please Brighton stop kidding yourself to think anyone buys your nonsense. You have overdone this stunt ad neauseum.

It is just amazing how Mugabe's regime can distort the truth, and make them appear to be the good guys. Even the Zimbabwe ambassador to Australia has the knack. Where do they learn this. Is there some sort of 'Mugabe speak' school or something. How can they keep themselves from cracking up when they say these ridiculous things.

Re: Dabengwa backs unity governement proposal..

I quote from Judith Todd, syndicated Harare Tribune journalist, 16 June, 2008...

"Those who broke the heart and spirit of Joshua Nkomo and the Zimbabwe African Peoples Union, Zapu, in the 1980s are still in place. Their gruesome tactics, including deceipt, used to crush hope and resistance, remain the same, only more widespread, flagrant and violent.

The only change since the 1987 'Unity Accord' is the name and face of the unity facilitator.
Then it was Zimbabwe's hapless President, Canaan Sodindo Banana, almost certainly already then a victim of blackmail, today it is South Africa's President, Thabo Mbeki...

In 1999 the Movement for Democratic Change was born into the usual storm from Zanu-PF of violence, theft, destruction of property, spurious charges of treason and other crimes.
In 2008, after losing the March elections, the Mugabe regime has turned its weapons on to their very heartlands in a campaign of such vicious retribution that shouts of outrage from Zimbabwe's silent neighbours could have been expected. Instead it has been reported that MDC representatives have been inveigled to negotiate an end to these evils being visited upon them through a government of national unity - unity with the authors of Zimbabwe's unspeakable suffering...

If so, this must be one of the crudest forms of pressure ever exerted on the MDC - having to negotiate with a man who, if you cave in,
has the power to restore anteretrovirals he took away from Aids victims; food he took away from the starving. The 1987 accord yielded little more than an enduring triumph of violence over democracy. A pre-Run-off poll unity accord with Zanu-PF could well cement that triumph of violence over the voices and votes of brutalised, brave people."
