Vs for ‘victory’, ‘valour’ and taking ‘vacations’ on polling day
June 27th, 2008

The local media are reporting that there was a high voter turnout today. This is clearly not true and we believe is their way of preparing to rig. But we expected this: the only election Mugabe can win these days is a rigged election… Oh hang on…. didn’t he lose the last rigged election? He is so unpopular he can’t even win when he’s got the votes all lined up and pre-prepared ! I guess this is why he’s decided to go for the rigged one horse race approach.

That aside, the ‘Red Alert’ campaign even made the ZBC News tonight; they showed the flyers and the red Vs spray painted everywhere … but they said property had been defaced. They also showed stage-managed footage of a poor women so sad trying to scrub it off in an obvious ploy to take the moral high-ground. Frankly, I doubt a Bulawayo resident would try and scrub very hard at all – this town wants the defiance to be visible and in the open!

The report was surreal though: incredible that they would report on red Vs, but not on their fellow citizens being beaten to a pulp and terrorised; outrageous that red paint offends them, but not blood spilled by innocent people.
We aren’t speculating on whether Robert Mugabe will win; we know he will. We wonder how big his win will be, how huge his lie, how absurd his arrogance and his confidence he can con the world. Above all we’re wondering about the violence; how much it will escalate, how people will cope and what we can do to support and help.

Great report again.
With reference to the AU summit Mugabe boycott.
Most of my emails to the AU contacts are being rejected. Is this maybe due my gmail address?
I think it essential to deny Mugabe from attending. He must not get a chance to speak at this summit.

Why don’t you start a movement/action for anyone in the world to send an email to Bob to say “goodbye, you’re evil, you’re screwing people around, go away”. Millions of people in and outside of Zimbabwe just want him to stop. Well, most of us want him in jail. But stopping would be a good start, right? If you could organize a website enlistment page, for people to add their name to “Bob – just stop”, you would get so much response.
Just an idea. I’d do such a website if I knew how, but I don’t.
By the way, accessing your website has been patchy over the last day or two, and it didn’t seem like a high traffic issue, seemed more like some funny hacking going on.

Morgan needs to be decisive post these farcical polls.
Passively Morgan has been part of these elections whether he was officially part of it or not. A ‘no participation vote’ by the voters is actually a VOTE. Morgan knows that if no one or low turn out occured he had one and had a feel what the people want.
Mugabe took a risk and it seems he has failed…he should have postponed the election and then tried to rig a participating election.
What next…
Morgan must sit tight and allow Mugabe to play the first card do not react but watch. In the same time he must act like he has won regardless of this election as the result w2hether he likes it or not has been played. He has won both elections!
He must call Mugabe to the table and say to him here is the deal if you and your boys want immunity you must begin the process of transition.
Plan B we will bide our time and you will eventually fall in a hole…it will be inevitable…you choose as noone in the international community is going to recognise you.
Morgan needs to let Mugabe know that only he, Morgan, will allow Mugabe to be accepted by the international and now is the time to do it.
Morgan be a winner and you negotiate with Mugabe with your agenda and let mugabe know what his options are.

Friends and family will be marching in the Amnesty protest against torture in Dublin today. They will be wearing red ribbons in support of the ready for change, red for peace campaign. If you know anyone in Ireland, pass on the message.
Inspirtional work Sokwanele – thank you
