Police arrive at Killarney, Bulawayo

Yesterday Sokwanele published an article that destitute and homeless people, living in an informal settlement at Killarney (on the outskirts of Bulawayo), had started to dismantle their own shacks, motivated by pure fear after hearing that the police were on their way to destroy their homes.
It’s winter in Zimbabwe and the nights are bitterly cold.
We can confirm that the police
arrived today. We’ve just uploaded images showing the destroyed homes and some of the victims. Yesterday’s article can be found on the front page of our website www.sokwanele.com along with images from today. The archived article, entitled ‘The Ultimate Betrayal’ will in future be found here here.
