Vote for ‘This is Zimbabwe’ in the 2005 Weblog Awards
‘This is Zimbabwe’ is a finalist in the 2005 Weblog Awards, in the category for ‘Best Middle East or Africa Blog’. The final decision on who the winner is will be determined by public voting.
Please support us by clicking on the link in the right hand column and voting for ‘This is Zimbabwe’.
Zimbabweans are advised that they need not produce national identity cards when they vote; they will not be forced to attend an intimidating pre-voting rally; it does not matter if they have a distant relative that was born decades ago in a different country, and they will not be visited by thugs at some point and threatened with violence.
And if our blog does not win? We assure you all that we will not track you down and punish you by beating you up or depriving you and your family of food!
You may also be interested to note that on this occasion, you too can enjoy that unique experience enjoyed by a minority of Zimbabweans; namely, what it feels like to have multiple votes ! (Read the rules below for more information on how that works.)
It’s a voting experience. Enjoy it, and at the same time help us to raise our profile and continue fighting for democracy in Zimbabwe.
Fingers crossed!

These are the voting rules:
- Polls close December 15, 2005.
- You may vote once every 24 hours in each poll.
- After voting in an individual poll you will be locked out from voting again in that poll (on the computer you voted from) for 24 hours.
- Each poll has it’s own separate 24 hour lockout control. Voting in, for example, Best Blog will not lock you out of voting in other categories.
- Vote totals are not final until certified.
- Vote totals are subject to periodic correction for identified cheating.
- Cheaters will be banned from the site.
- We reserve the right to close some or all polls earlier than the posted end date.
- Negative comments about finalists are not permitted here. Your comment will be deleted and you will be banned.
- Question as to why a blog is or isn’t included should be left on the general support thread (located at Wizbang).
