“Foolish men imagine that because judgement for an evil thing is delayed, there is no justice; but only accident here below. Judgement for an evil thing is many times delayed some day or two, some century or two, but it is sure as life, it is sure as death.”
Well I suppose Carlyle had his odd moment of rationale – in-between having a tendancy to Fascism, a distaste for democracy and a belief in charismatic leadership, which would have been right up Mugabe’s Cult of Personality street.
I think judgement denied during a lifetime equals no justice. Beyond that timeframe, feuds are often the result.
A bit of a Catch 22 for Zimbabweans suffering from ‘evil things’.
(Shame that in photo 2 the fellow in the red T-shirt wasn’t in the front – his message ‘Couples that test together, stay together’ has a subliminal message for the GNU)
