Not that funny…

I try to listen to the 7am news every morning, it is always good to know what the enemy is thinking!

Yesterday morning I was quite impressed as they actually did give a fairly unbiased version of the Bennett story. Perhaps the staff at ZBC are finally pulling their ostrich heads out the sand.

It appears that the deputy ministers are going to be sworn in today, so a long list of names was read out and all those on the list have to report today to State House.

The very last name was none other than Roy Bennett.

I knew that he could still be sworn in as Deputy Minister – he has not been convicted of any crime yet and let’s face it the Zanu ministers are all criminals themselves. But I did have to giggle as later in the news was the coverage of Roy’s trial, that the immigration charges have been thrown out but that he remains in custody for the arms charges.

I had visions of poor Roy being driven in his prison uniform, ball and chain, standing on the lawns of State House to be sworn in. I know it really is not funny, but the whole situation here is just inane. A tragicomedy of epic proportion.

Does anyone know whether Roy Bennett has been, or will be, allowed bail?

An interview with Roy Bennett’s wife was aired on the evening news in SA yesterday (Thursday 19/2) and she stated that he had not yet been allowed bail. Hope that helps….

Unfortunately, we have a very biased Judiciary so anything can happen. Roy knows what the inside of prison is like after the Zanu Kangaroo Parliamentary committee jailed him for an offence which would have been heavily fined in every day life. I hope the cases are, rightly, thrown out. The Zanu Poilce and CIO make themselves look like clowns.
