ALERT: State possibly preparing to arrest Beatrice Mtetwa – unverified
We’ve just had very alarming news that the State is preparing to arrest Beatrice Mtetwa. This is unverified and we have no further information at this stage but it comes from a credible source. We’re trying to find out more.
Beatrice Mtetwa is a phenomenally brave woman and a brilliant focused lawyer. She has been very involved in defending the rights of all the abductees and was quoted in the BBC in our previous post, after helping Roy Bennett too.
If this information turns out to be true, and the State proceed with arresting her, then everyone must be ready to take action immediately.

If this actually happens that is the final straw for me – we have to all move from moderate to radical at that point. My patience will have run out!!!

We Zimbabweans are too quick to forgive heinous crimes without justice being done and too quick to hope change is coming.
Besides this news about Zimbabwean Heroine Beatrice Mtetwa… things on the ground do NOT indicate Mugabe has had any change of heart. Tendai Biti says Mugabe (for a moment… and even that is suspicious) “is also a human being like us”…. Isn’t this just what happened with ZAPU… the misnamed Unity accord? We weren’t careful enough!
From just the news today:
South Africa’s Jeff Hadebe said Susan’s death “should be a catalyst to Zimbabwe’s political leadership to finalise outstanding issues.” But at the same time South Africa is throwing Zim refugees out of the only places of safety they have like the Musina Showgrounds and Joburg’s Methodist church and once again applying pressure on MDC just to ignore the atrocities and injustice.
Gono “is pressing ahead with plans to launch a daily newspaper”. He has “ordered a US$2 million state of-the-art printing press.” Where does he get the money? Straight from RBZ vaults, his illegal exports of flowers from his grabbed farms and NATIONAL diamonds from Chiyadzwa. If Mugabe is now ‘human like us’ why isn’t the US$2 million used for cholera prevention and teachers’ salaries?
But then: “At least 38 soldiers and 19 policemen have been arrested since the beginning of this month (i.e. in 12 days!) for looting diamonds at Chiyadzwa diamond field”… where the ARMY and POLICE – under Zanu-pf control – are trying to make sure that only Mugabe and his cronies get the diamonds for their personal bank accounts. http://www.thezimbabwetimes.com/?p=13269
Then there is: “Army Commander hails inclusive Govt” … “In an apparent sign of change in the attitude of the Army towards the inclusive government, the Commander of 4 Brigade in Masvingo, Brigadier Francis Mtisi, has landed his support to the all inclusive Government… The statement will go a long way to demystify some of the misconceptions that might have existed between the army and the new inclusive government.” Yeah right! Let’s have the senior officers – Chiwenga, Chihuri, Shiri, Zimondi – salute the legally appointed Prime Minister at a public ceremony… just for a start.
Then there’s the headline “Police investigate MPs for theft”… no don’t get hopeful…. It is only MDC MPs of course! http://www.thezimbabwetimes.com/?p=13277 What about investigating Joice Mujuru’s plan to export US$10 million of gold per week? What about investigating Grace’s diamond business with China? What about arresting the named policemen who torture those they detain – specially those acquitted of any wrongdoing?
And true to form: “The Minister of Defence and a member of the Zanu PF politburo Emmerson Mnangagwa, has accused America and Britain of trying to eliminate Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.” http://www.radiovop.com
Detentions and twisting of justice and the law continue: “Anderson Shadreck Manyere’s application for refusal of further remand was on Monday dismissed by Harare magistrate Archie Wochionga who said the state should be given time to conclude its investigations…. Till 23rd March!
And then there are the continuing farm grabs by high-up Zanu cronies, senators no less… and the news that Mugabe has unilaterally cancelled the retreat for ministers called by the Prime Minister so they can work together and map out the way forward.
It is not yet time to relax. Susan Tsvangirai’s tragic death is being heartlessly used to further Mugabe & co’s vicious rule. When are those ordinary soldiers, policemen and citizens who still support Mugabe (and perhaps think they will eventually get a piece of the cake) going to wake up and stop helping him and disGrace to get even richer at their own expense?
This is a time to be even more aware and awake to their selfish plans!

It is amazing how much cruelty is still csrried out not only in Zimbabwe but also SA on Zimbabweans. Have these creatures no hearts for their own kindred.
When will peace reign?
Dear Father God – save your people from the terrors of torture, starvation, humiliation, disposession.
Sincerely

Well when will this end ! Do we really want to hear this continuously with no remedy in sight ?Mugabe has to be off the scene period !! before any prgress of substance is going to be made.Seems like we need to take another approach to end this suffering before there is nothing left to build on.How does these thugs live with their consciences ? What a shame !!

The man’s heart has not changed. What he sees in a government of unity is more possibilities to enrich himself. Now that we know the driver of the truck that killed Susan was not even an employee of the truck company, what does that tell us.
