No food for newly arrived refugees

May 1st, 2009

Refugees are still pouring down South [from Zimbabwe to South Africa] irregardless of the GNU.

We had a prayer meeting in SAWIMA [the Southern African Women’s Institute for Migration Affairs (Johannesburg)] and hungry refugees broke into tears as they thought they would receive food. Instead the organisation SAWIMA had only mats and blankets to give refugees, and not food.

I felt pain right from inside me, and this brought memories of me during the first days of my own arrival here in South Africa.

I now doubt the GNU will work, because if it is working why are people still leaving the country?

This indicates that the journey of going home is in the graves. I will live here suffering for the rest of my life. All my effort I did in school will be destroyed.
