Violence used to ‘train’ police recruits in Zimbabwe

This secretly filmed footage (also featured on SW Radio Africa last week, and now on YouTube) shows police recruits undergoing training at Tomlinson depot in Harare, Zimbabwe. The trainers ‘train’ them by holding them down and beating them with batons. This is apparently referred to as ‘pay day’.

    How sad ! Violence has become a very normal thing in Zimbabwe and where is it all going to end. Gone are the days of having professional training it seems with policemen leaving training feeling proud and ready to take on their new profession with pride.

    @exbulawayo
    This vilence is actually shown by these police who are trained under such an inviroment they come out of the camps as vicious dogs ready to bite who ever they meet on the way, which is the intention of our Government. psychologially these people are affected and they just practice the same violence to the innocent public. such brutality should be stoped but the question is by who?
