After stating that they would not re-engage until mugabe tows the line, MDC are back in with a 30 day deadline ultimatum. Or else....what? Once again mugabe is let off the hook, and he'll use the 30 days to intensify violence to obatain a 'popular' manadate that Gono and Tomana should not be relieved, and simultaneously spread pro-ZANU propaganda that MDC are treacherously trying to oust ZANU from power. That in itself will be argued to be an act of treason.

MDC seem to have once again wavered at the post. This is the election farce, GPA muddle and the same old past calls for mass worker stay-aways that were damp squibs.

This whole Zimbabwe debacle is nothing but a power struggle - we know that as a fact as far as mugabe and company goes. MDC, it can be argued, as a continuously accomodating partner to the company, is therefore equally engaged in its own power struggle for powers' sake. I fail to see where the people of Zimbabwe come into this equation - the whole debate is an African politician thing about who gets what jobs, cars, houses, salaries, expense accounts, body guards and the ever attracting buzz of being a big chef.
Reply to this comment --- <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('274544','Malcolm','After stating that they would not re-engage until mugabe tows the line, MDC are back in with a 30 day deadline ultimatum.
Watching events unfold in Zimbabwe is a little like watching a long boring tennis match while the temperature soars on a hot day.

"The ball is in the SADC court."

"Now it's into Mugabe's court, where he plays an expertly disguise drop shot just over the net."

"Now it's back with the SADC, who send another slow lob back to Mugabe."

And on and on...

Where is the MDC in all this? Waiting as a substitute on the sidelines for a chance to get into the game.

By the time the MDC gets a chance to play, the tar on the surface will have melted, the net will be in tatters, the ball-boys will have emigrated or starved to death, and all the spectators will have lost interest in the whole mess and will have drifted away.
Reply to this comment --- <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('274540','Graham (the original)','Watching events unfold in Zimbabwe is a little like watching a long boring tennis match while the temperature soars on a hot day.\r\n\r\n\"The ball is in the SADC court.\"\r\n\r\n\"Now it\'s into Mugabe\'s court, where he plays an expertly disguise drop shot just over the net.\"\r\n\r\n\"Now it\'s back with the SADC, who send another slow lob back to Mugabe.\"\r\n\r\nAnd on and on...\r\n\r\nWhere is the MDC in all this?
