If we can let us give poor zimbabweans shelter and assist them to bring down the Monster. The men who make those decisions will one day be asked to explain them. The good thing about South Africa is that you can force them to start explaining come voting day. Tonight I am embarrassed to be a citizen of a country that ostensibly places so much emphasis on human rights but has chosen for their own selfish ends to ignore completely the abuses in Zimbabwe. You can understand halfway when the West makes tut-tutting noises and turns their back - they are embroiled in problems of their own making vis-a-vis the Middle East, and Africa is so vast and complex a problem to them as to encourage total denial. But as you say, the one country from which Zimbabweans could and should have expected help has done nothing - and, even worse, has condoned Mugabe's actions by blaming the MDC for the violence.
