Is the Zimbabwe Election 2008 about to be stolen?
March 3rd, 2008

This photo, sent to us by a subscriber, shows another activist billboard appearing at Musina, South Africa. You may remember the drama surrounding the last one erected there in October last year (read about it here). This time the billboard asks:
Is the Zimbabwe Election 2008 about to be stolen?
And, 26 days before the elections, it lays down this challenge to the region and the rest of Africa:
AU and SADC: don’t accept a rigged result in Zimbabwe

I call to all zimbabwean to on the 29 march and vote against the dictatorship which is ruining the country. For what concerns Dr Makoni, remember the role played by Dr Maya in the 2002 presidential election.
Maya and Mugabe were all in the same team.
The same as Makoni in 2008.presidential election.
Be aware of the Ides of March.

I cant imagine what this feels like, election after election, instead of change it is more of the same only with more violence. How can this happen and how can it be allowed to continue to happen? Hopefully we shall see change tomorrow, but if not Mugabe is 82, he cant live forever!

Congratulations for setting up the blog and doing your best to keep the world informed. It’s hard for me to accept the idea of voting for another ‘miserable dictator’ and ‘different pig same old trough’ theory! Hope is the last thing to be lost and from what we’ve seen lately, Zimbabweans still have hope that there will be a change for the better – and I do too, which is why I’ll be ‘watching’ the elections today! Good luck Zimbabwe – you deserve to get your pearl back!

The elections in Zim are never rigged. believe it or not. This time around there is no news of violence unlike the previous elections. It might not be a perfect election but there is no doubt the international community & Europe in particular will only accept an election in which MDC wins. The election has nothing to do with good governance, inflation, unemployment, human rights abuses but has something to do with luring voters something MUgabe is good at. The urban community have since learnt the tactic and are no longer being fooled but the rural folk rely on subsistence farming and anyone who tells them (even without results) anything hopeful about farming is a good candidate.80% of ZANU supporters are registered whilt just 55% of MDC voters are registered and voting. Truly speaking.. When all the political landscape is equal then ZANU has only 17% of the WHOLE Zim population and MDC has more than 56%. The rest dont give a damn about politics, they dont find hope in voting for anyone.

You know I am gonna have to agree with a lot of you about this whole puppet thing. Think about it, everyone Zimbabwean knows if you go against the “man” you are pretty much done for. So “chaakatsika chii” you know, obviously they wanna split the undecided voters so that zanu still comes out on top. I am overseas and I tell yah everyone wants to go back home. I miss our power sales commercials and the commuter omnibus conductors. Is there anyone in the heavens that can have mercy on us?

“The elections in Zim are never rigged. believe it or not. This time around there is no news of violence unlike the previous elections”.
I do not beleive that anyone could be so stupid as to post this sort of pro mugabe drivel. Tell us Mr Nyagura, do you live under a rock or are you just a mugabe mouthpiece??
I note you post from the UK and you are a self confessed economic parasite in that country. No wonder so many of the english people despise zimbabweans in the UK.

So I am looking at the news and watching Zimbabwe fade from the headlines in favour of Tibet. This is what will assist that arrogant marxist gorilla to cause more havoc with a lower profile.
I have one thing to say to Mad Bob and this is it: “You can blame the world all you like, and you can lie to the uneducated citizens as much as you want to, but you cannot shake the reality that history has now recorded. You are useless – a dictator that could not organise a screw up in a brothel. You are also a sore loser – even my children are better behaved than you. Even if you volunteer to step down now, your abilities as a person, who thinks he is a leader, will not change – you will remain useless. Remember people are admired for the good they have done but dictators are reviled. A toilet seat is your crown. However there is a positive to this. When you die, you will not go to hell because the devil does not like competition”.
