Moments of pure magic
I received this sms yesterday, over and over from a whole lot of different people:
“zim’s situation is desperate for God’s intervention. today at 1pm everyone should stop what they are doing and pray. pass this on.”
So at 1pm yesterday I said a quiet prayer to myself, privately on my own like my special secret vote. I also passed on the message to others.
Shortly after 1pm I got this sms message sent to me from a colleague in Harare. Pure magic:
“just had an incredibly moving experience. our entire staff downed tools at 1pm to have a 5 min silent prayer for zimbabwe. very emotional and totally rewarding. we should be doing this every day until we reach freedom”
I love Zimbabwe.

God is with you, in your pain and frustration. He is in this blog. There are millions across the world who are praying with you. Hang on to Him, He will get you through the darkness and into the light. God bless Zimbabwe and all her people.

Bright Matonga has just been on BBC. He asked “what is the rush?” regarding the delays in annoucing results.
The “rush” Mr Matonga is to see a freely elected government in place in our country. Surely that is not so much to ask?

Fantastic story. And that is what I was thinking about here in the UK without an SMS message.
Truthfully, Zimbabwe’s good humor is its greatest strength.
PS - your 1300 hours is our 11 hours. That was 17 minutes ago when I was posting about smiling our way to a better more united place.

Reports that Morgan Tsvangirai is forming an alternative Government.
This will surely bring the situation to a head and oblige South Africa and other countries to show where they stand.
It must be impossible to stay calm - but keep safe!!

His exit is inevitable.. now if only the international community acts to peacefully but emphatically support your democratic rights and dignified patient faith in lawful process–his departure could be mercifully soon. The world could then maybe begin to learn the lesson it desperately needs from the heroic example set by the people of Zimbabwe.
