Please spread the news of the General Strike. It’s on, and starts tomorrow (Tuesday, 15 April 2008)

April 14th, 2008

The General Strike is on, starting tomorrow.

Please can everyone spread the news as widely as possible.

Zimbabweans, phone everyone you can think of and tell them to phone everyone they can think of and just pass on and on and on.

If you are in the diaspora, please phone home and tell them and do the same.

Sms’s have been flying all day and I am told the news is spreading like wildfire, but I haven’t actually heard anything clearly from the horses mouth yet (MDC MT). I am concerned this might make people question if its true.

Communications in Zimbabwe are very poor at the moment so we need as much help to drive this news out as possible.

Please can you also use all the powers of persuasion you have to ask people who might be fearful or reluctant to just stay at home.

People should just stayaway. With only 12% of Zim formerly employed, it will be a success but it wont change MUgabe’s mind though it will send a clear picture to the international community that Gabriel is no longer wanted and that we need the presidential results out NOW… BUT GUYS WHY DO YOU THINK.

Are you a born free? This country was liberated through some shedding of blood and it will never be seized again unless we are prepared to shed our blood. ZANU PF will never listen to any of your prefered way of solving things. How much do you know your history. Did you ever noticed some revolutions which took place during the past years? Did they happen through the ballot or through negotiations. I think you represent ZANU PF and you are trying to suppress us the revolutionaries. We respect Mbuya Nehanda for what she said “tora gidi uzvitonge” and you are against our heroes? Who do you regard as a hero better than Mbuya nehanda in Zim?……

You are all an inspiration to us here in the UK, I want to help you and maybe this is the only real way I can. Mugabe is clearly a narcissistic psychopath from where we are here. We support you all in taking back the reources, power and authority over your OWN COUNTRY. We understand that the armed forces have stated that they will refuse to fight Zimbabwean people. Let’s hope they truly mean it. We are also getting reports that the War Veterans have been unleashed against you. This is an atrocity.

THE BEST OF ALL FORTUNE TO YOU IN YOUR NOBLE STRUGGLES.

To Hey Sokwanele: Sokwanele is a people’s movement, we support non violent civic action.

If you want something else you need to visit another group. Sorry, but you won’t find us advocating violence here.

I think Zanu PF and Zanu PF supporters would LIKE to encourage us to advocate violence against them, because it would play into their propaganda that we are trying to overthrow them through violence.

That’s not going to happen because we do not support or respect Zanu PF tactics. We despise any effort to inflict pain or injury on another human being, and our job is to expose it forwhat it is, not join in.
