An update on our previous story about hand amputations
You may remember that I wrote a post ten days ago about information that had been sent to us about hands being cut off. I relayed the information from my contact like this:
he said a contact of his had phoned him and told him that people in the Musana Communal Lands, in the Bindura / Shamva area (Mashonaland Central), have had their hands cut off.
We were unable to verify it - he was unable to get back in touch with his source - so it began to feel like one of those grotesque rumours that start to grow as people panic.
I am thinking this morning that it may well be true.
This morning The Mirror, a British tabloid paper (I know, I know…) carries a story claiming the same - but they have a name and they directly quote the victim’s words:
Nelson Ndlovu had voted for the opposition, the Movement of Democratic Change, a simple act in any decent democracy. In Zimbabwe it can be a death sentence.
At least 10 people have died in postelection violence, with more than 500 injured. Thousands more have fled in terror.
Nelson, 28, was held down by four thugs while a fifth cut off his right hand, an act of vicious significance - a raised right hand is the symbol of the opposition party.
“They told me, ‘you are a sell-out. You won’t make the same mistake again, you won’t be able to raise your hand again.’
Mugabe is trying to kill us off.”
The story was found via ZimbabweSituation.

Yes, this is terrible!
Also, the thing I can’t stand, and makes my blood boil, is the report by the nurse at Mutoka hospital about the children as young as four with severe burns, and that all these victims have had to be turned away, mainly because the thugs that did it have threatened to burn down the hospital if they attend to those they have brutally attacked. No words can describe this other thann perhaps SHEER ANARCHY.

I would use the word “genocide”.
Public figures like Archbishop Tutu must stop talking as though they are giving a warning. The killing and maiming has started; even before the elections the death toll in Zimbabwe from hunger and preventable disease was higher than the total death toll in Darfur (what a competition).
I am so angry now that I can’t even sleep.

It can’t be just anarchy, its barbaric satanism. The Mugabe regime is the most cruel govt in the world. I think we are sending the wrong people to jail these days. The real thugs are ruling whilst the innocent people are being sent to jail.

The suffering that ordinary Zimbabweans are enduring is too much for words. I cannot begin to imagine the agony of the victims, and can only pray for their relief from the horror.
As for the perpetrators …….. there is a greater fate awaiting them, and their time will come.
May they find strength in the fact that their agressors will face justice for the torture.

Well spoken, ‘Moon’ !
The time is almost near, and fear has found a new home. By not acting out the ‘democracy’ about which he so freely sprouts forth, Mr Mugabe has reliquished his option of a ‘quiet exit’. All power to Morgan , for steadfastly refusing the ‘poison chalice’, held out by the murderer and his backers.
The victory over evil has been accomplished.
Celebrate and mourn those that have paid the ultimate price, and remember that vegeance belongs to The Lord.
I wish you peace.
